i.c.stars - sometimes referred to as iseestars, isee stars, or i see stars, is a non-profit organization that offers 4 programs designed to develop 1,000 community leaders with IT careers. We have over 300 volunteers from the IT field each year that help us deliver our programs.

i.c.stars launched a volunteer project to define metrics for measuring the impact of our alumni in their communities. This system will help monitor our progress toward our vision of 1,000 community leaders in 10 years.

what is the DePaul partnership with i.c.stars?

Starting in 2006, i.c.stars alums who complete the Bridges program will be eligible for a special admission and automatic acceptance into the DePaul CTI or School for New Learning bachelors programs. Both organizations are currently working to build financial assistance and scholarship funds to assist with tuition.

what is bridges?

Submitted by elannert on Sat, 2006-02-18 23:44. full-time IT positions as an i.c.stars consultant at companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield and Dade Behring. The program is for qualified graduates of the i.c.stars core internship program.

how long?

each consulting assignment is 6 months long. After completing a Bridges assignment, participants may be hired by the company where they are consulting, or they can sign up for another Bridges assignment, or they can move on to i.c.stars full-time placement services.

what will i do?

you will work at another orgnaization as an i.c.stars consultant in one of three different roles:
  1. web developer
  2. business analyst
  3. desktop support

so what?

Bridges allows i.c.stars graduates to be assured of full-time work if they successfully complete the core 4-month internship. The Bridges program allows participants to explore different types of opportunities in the IT field before deciding where to specialize.

will i get paid?

yes. as an i.c.stars consultant in the Bridges program, you will get paid an hourly wage for 40+ hours per week depending on the assignment.

where do i start?

to be eligible for the Bridges program, you must first complete the i.c.stars core internship.
