Modems Inc., an analog modem manufacturer, was a division within ConsumerCom,
a Fortune 500 consumer electronics manufacturer, until it was spun off to become
an independent entity.  Modems Inc. has been working to replace the many
information systems that were previously provided by ConsumerCom. You have been
assigned to a team responsible for creating an online ordering and distribution
system for the retailing of analog modems. The team is currently working to
respond to an RFP from the Modems Inc. executive team that outlines the
requirements and constraints for an online retail site. Your Technical Director
has asked you to create a flowchart of the ordering and distribution of modems
over the Internet.

The following sites were profiled in a Feb 6, 2007 wsj article on web search analysis tools. These sites are used by i.c.stars interns to analyze market size and decide on new product design for their business plans in the second client engagement.

The attached document contains a template and instructions for creating simple, system level use cases that can be used as input to create low-fidelity screen mockups and pseudocode. To create more than one use case in the document, copy/paste the use case table to another page.

This workshop is presented to i.c.stars cycle interns to assist with developing the effort and timeline for building a website. The resources are mostly older and do not directly address web projects - but discuss software projects. The attached pdf file is from the Software Productivity Center from 1999 and is a good introduction to the field of estimating software.

The attached file is a very simple proposal template for a website project. It is created by the teams in the first project during the i.c.stars internship and submitted to their client.

The attached excel model can be used as a template for quickly evaluating and comparing 3 technology vendors against each other. This file is used by i.c.stars participants during the first project to evaluate hosting provider alternatives as well as eCommerce service providers.
