Theresa Riley joins i.c.stars as Director of Career Services
CHICAGO (February 16, 2007) – i.c.stars, a leading non-profit organization shaping the next generation of technology leaders, announced today that Theresa Riley has joined the team in a newly created position of Director of Career Services. Riley, a seasoned not-for-profit, corporate and technology industry executive, will be responsible for facilitating the placement of the expanding i.c.stars graduates and alumni, maintaining relationships with employer recruiters, developing and orientating volunteers, developing interns and alumni career paths, supporting community relations efforts and developing and sustaining new program initiatives, including Bridges.
Prior to joining i.c.stars, Riley, a 29 year technology professional worked for Centers for New Horizons, where she served as the Director of Information Technology responsible for all aspects of technology for the 35 year-old organization located in the Bronzeville community. She is also Board President for CTCNET Chicago and is member of BDPA.
Riley, a graduate of Chicago Pubic Schools,started her technology career at the Chicago Urban League Computer Training Center. She holds an AAS from Triton College, BA from Concordia University,and is graduate of Eugenia Burns Hope Center for community leadership. She also mentors young women at Leslie's Place transitional living facility.
